Pageant Organizers Mix Fashion and Dining in Harare

Miss Universe Zimbabwe folks plan to start something fresh called the Fashion and Dining Market. They want to mix clothes with food at this brand-new event, which nobody has done before at beauty contests in Zimbabwe. They hope to bring together fashion lovers and models.

The event will soon take place at Laparada, a fancy place in Harare. Sakhile Dube, who currently holds the Miss Universe Zimbabwe title, will attend to meet everyone. She plans to talk about her experiences and give advice to young women who dream of wearing the crown someday. Many people look forward to hearing what she has to say.

Alison Makusha runs the behind-the-scenes stuff for Miss Universe Zimbabwe. She told reporters they already started signing up models for the 2025 contest. Lots of young women want to join the competition this year. The team feels happy about all the interest from these hopeful contestants.

Makusha explained they keep busy all year long with different activities. She believes beauty pageants need constant attention and new ideas. Her team works hard to keep up with what happens around the world in modeling. They want to make sure Zimbabwe stays current with beauty pageant trends.

Local designers can bring their clothes to the Fashion and Dining Market. Makeup artists, hair stylists, shoemakers, and people who create handbags can also participate. The organizers want many different fashion businesses to come and show what they make. They hope lots of creative people will participate.

This event stands apart from the main beauty contest but will feature models anyway. Similar events happen across the globe but Zimbabwe never tried it before. The team might invite fashion experts from other countries later on. First, they want to focus on local talent and give them a chance to shine.

The big Miss Universe Zimbabwe contest happens May 17 at the Hippodrome in Harare. Organizers have already started holding tryouts in different parts of the country. They plan a special charity run on April 26, during which they will announce the top 12 women competing for the crown. Everything follows their careful schedule.

Sakhile Dube made Zimbabwe proud when she reached the top 30 at the international Miss Universe pageant in Mexico last year. She recently started two projects she cares about deeply. She created the Zibusiso Foundation to help communities through education and healthcare programs. The foundation supports people who need extra help.

She also launched Zie The Label, a clothing brand that combines fashion with helping others. Her clothes look stylish but serve a bigger purpose. Some of the money from selling these outfits goes to charity causes. Sakhile shows how beauty queens can make real changes in their communities through smart business ideas.

Both projects show how much Sakhile cares about giving back and lifting others. She uses her position as Miss Universe Zimbabwe to create positive change. Her work represents exactly what beauty pageants should encourage - beautiful people doing beautiful things for society.
