Palantir Set to Become World's Largest Software Pure Play Company with $336 Billion Market Cap

Palantir trades at a market value of $336 billion and approaches a major business milestone. The artificial intelligence company helps organizations study large amounts of data to find hidden patterns. Palantir stands close to overtaking SAP as the largest software company that focuses only on software products. SAP currently holds the top position with a market value of about $360 billion. Palantir needs its stock price to rise just $10 per share to claim the leading spot.

The company delivered strong financial results during the first quarter of 2025. Palantir earned $883.9 million in revenue, which represents growth of 39 percent compared to the same period last year. The performance beat analyst predictions and prompted management to raise their annual forecast. Palantir scored 83 percent on a key business health measure that combines growth rates and profit margins. Companies typically aim for scores of 40 percent or higher on this measurement.

Palantir signed 139 government contracts worth more than $1 million each during the quarter. The company also secured commercial deals totaling $810 million, marking an increase of 183 percent from the previous year. Russell indexes plan to move Palantir into their top 200 large company list this Friday. However, Palantir faces new competition as OpenAI recently won a $200 million defense contract.
