Parthiban ditches Dubai, drives through the night for Sreenivasan’s last goodbye

A Tamil director made an urgent, unplanned trip to Kerala to honor a late colleague. Parthiban canceled a Dubai visit to drive to the Chennai airport, barely catching a flight to Kochi after the death of filmmaker Sreenivasan. He described narrowly avoiding several car accidents during his rushed drive and pleading with airline staff for any available seat, eventually getting one after a crew member gave up their spot.

He checked into a basic hotel near the deceased director's home, unsure why he felt such a strong compulsion to be there in person. At the gathering, he noted the presence of major Malayalam stars but emphasized he came only to pay quiet respect with jasmine flowers, not expecting recognition. He believed the sincere gesture itself held meaning, regardless of anyone noticing.

Another director, Rajesh, eventually spotted him in the crowd and later sent him emotional messages. The texts praised Parthiban's act as a display of pure friendship and true character, calling him the biggest hero present. Rajesh stated he would use the example to teach younger filmmakers about genuine respect, saying the quiet, unnoticed effort defined real heroism more than any public display.
