PAS open to leadership contests at 71st Muktamar in September

PAS leaders welcome anyone who wants to fight for the top jobs at their big September meeting. Party spiritual guide Hashim Jasin says contests can happen at every level of the organization. The Islamic party has always let members challenge each other for leadership roles. Delegates will decide if anyone dares to take on the current president and deputy president. Party rules allow any qualified person to throw their hat into the ring.

Other political groups often block people from challenging their leaders. PAS takes a different approach and encourages competition among members. Hashim explained that their party never stops people from running against the current bosses. The September gathering will show if any brave souls want to shake things up. Party members must follow proper nomination procedures before they can compete.

Rumors have been flying about President Abdul Hadi Awang possibly quitting because of health problems. Party officials have denied these stories and say their leader plans to stay. Media outlets keep spreading gossip about leadership changes coming soon. The speculation has created buzz about who might step forward as candidates. Only the September congress will reveal the truth about any leadership battles.

Youth members from Pengkalan Chepa have already picked their favorite for deputy president. They want Mohd Amar Nik Abdullah to take over the second highest position. Current deputy president Tuan Ibrahim Tuan Man must decide if he wants to fight for his job. The nomination puts pressure on him to make his intentions clear. Party members are waiting to see how this political drama unfolds.
