Paul Russo Elected KBA Chair to Lead Banking Sector Growth

Paul Russo from KCB Group just became the new head of Kenya Bankers Association. The banking group picked him during their yearly meeting to lead all the banks across Kenya. He takes over from John Gachora who ran NCBA Group and had the job for almost four years. Credit Bank leader Betty Korir got picked again to be his deputy. The change happens when banks want to help more people and businesses get loans.

Russo worked in banks for nearly 25 years before getting this new role. He held top jobs at KCB Group and used to run National Bank of Kenya. The government gave him a special award called Elder of the Order of the Burning Spear. He also works with world leaders on making banking better for the planet. Banks chose him because they trust his skills and experience.

The new chairman promised to make banking easier and cheaper for everyone. He wants banks to support Kenya's money goals and help the country grow. Russo thanked Gachora for doing a good job during tough times like the virus outbreak. Gachora helped banks survive when many people struggled with money problems. Under Gachora's leadership banks changed loans worth 1.7 trillion shillings and gave small businesses 150 billion shillings more each year.
