Phil Salt smashes record 141 as England crush South Africa by 146 in Manchester

England leveled their three-match T20 series against South Africa with a commanding 146-run victory at Old Trafford on Friday evening. Phil Salt dominated proceedings with an unbeaten 141, establishing new records for the highest individual score and fastest century by an England batsman in T20 internationals. The opener reached his hundred from just 39 deliveries, surpassing previous England benchmarks across all formats.

Salt partnered with Jos Buttler during an explosive opening stand worth 126 runs in 7.5 overs. Buttler contributed 83 runs from 30 balls before departing, while captain Harry Brook remained unbeaten on 41. England's total of 304-2 marked the first instance of a team reaching 300 runs in T20 internationals between Test-playing nations.

South Africa struggled throughout their chase and folded for 158 runs inside 17 overs. Captain Aiden Markram top-scored with 41 as Jofra Archer claimed three wickets for 25 runs. The series concludes Sunday at Trent Bridge.
