PhonePe Payment Gateway announced on Wednesday a partnership with RuPay and JioHotstar to streamline subscription payments using UPI AutoPay. The rollout of subscription IQ, anchored by UPI AutoPay on RuPay credit cards, was announced at the Global Fintech Fest 2025. This collaboration allows customers to manage recurring payments through RuPay credit cards instead of linking UPI AutoPay solely to bank accounts, reducing the risk of failed transactions due to low balances.
With this feature, customers can ensure uninterrupted access to services such as JioHotstar by routing subscription payments through a credit line. The new solution also offers merchants multiple recurring payment options, from UPI AutoPay to eNACH and card-based billing, all on one platform. PhonePe stated that this update is designed to give users and businesses a more reliable, scalable way to handle subscriptions. The feature will soon expand to more businesses, enhancing reliability and convenience for recurring payments across India.
