PlayStation names new FlexStrike wireless fight stick with 2026 release planned

PlayStation revealed the FlexStrike wireless fighting controller during recent gaming presentations. The device connects to PlayStation 5 consoles and personal computers through wired USB-C cables or wireless PlayStation Link technology. Sony equipped the controller with mechanical switch buttons and interchangeable restrictor gates that store within built-in compartments. Players can utilize square, circle, and octagon gate configurations while maintaining simultaneous DualSense controller connections. The FlexStrike represents PlayStation's first manufactured fighting game controller.

The peripheral will appear at EVO 2025 competitions for demonstration purposes only. Attendees cannot test the device at the Arc System Works exhibition booth. Sony schedules the FlexStrike release for 2026 without specific availability dates. The company targets fighting game enthusiasts who prefer specialized control methods over standard gamepads. Professional competitors may evaluate the FlexStrike against established tournament equipment preferences.
