Poachers Snagged with 41 Ivory Tusks

Police arrested four people for having illegal elephant tusks that weighed 23 kilograms. Officers caught Masauso Nevhaya, Priscilla Chabata, Wonder Bozho and Stanford Mbiriyakura on May 30 near Telecel Zimbabwe. The suspects were looking for people to buy the ivory from them. Detectives found 35 tusks hidden inside brown bags in their car. Police searched Chabata's house and found six more tusks.

Officers also arrested five other people near Victoria Falls on the same day. Lizwelibanzi Ndlovu, Philani Ndlovu, Makhosini Sibanda, Shoti Shoko and Michael Muleya had ivory pieces and pangolin scales with them. The group wanted to sell these animal parts to buyers. Police said all suspects will face charges under wildlife protection laws. Officers ask people to report wildlife crimes to help stop poaching and trafficking.
