Pogba, back from doping ban, agrees to join Monaco on free transfer

Sports reporter Fabrizio Romano shared news about Paul Pogba joining Monaco as a free agent. The French midfielder agreed to terms with the club from his home country. Romano posted the update on his X social media account Tuesday evening. The deal gives Pogba a chance to restart his career after legal troubles. Monaco will not pay a transfer fee for the experienced player.

Pogba will sign a two-year contract that runs through summer 2027. The agreement needs final approval from both sides before becoming official. Legal teams from Monaco and Pogba will review contract language during the next few hours. Romano expects the paperwork to be completed soon. The club wants to announce the signing before other teams make competing offers.

The French star plans to travel to Monaco within one day. Team doctors will examine Pogba later during the week to confirm his fitness. Monaco officials will make the signing public after medical tests are finished. The club believes Pogba can help them compete for major trophies. His return comes after serving a suspension for failing drug tests.
