The Bono Regional Police Command has arrested 25-year-old Evans Ameyaw at Buoko near Chiraa for possession of stolen items and narcotic drugs. The arrest followed credible information about criminal activities involving the sale of stolen motorcycles and tricycles in the area.
An intelligence-led operation by the Regional Police Intelligence Directorate (PID) led to Ameyaw’s capture on October 23, 2025, in the Wenchi Municipality. During interrogation, he admitted to working with others to commit these crimes. A search of his room revealed four motorbikes, two tricycles, and seven compressed slabs of suspected Indian hemp.
All items have been retained for evidence. The police are working to identify and arrest other members of the syndicate. Ameyaw remains in custody, assisting with the investigation, including efforts to return the stolen property to its rightful owners. The case is being prepared for prosecution.
