Polytechnic rector tells students to rat out predatory profs

Campus head puts predators and cheaters on direct notice. The rector of Federal Polytechnic Ukana, Mrs. Eduma Essien, told new students to immediately report any sexual pressure from instructors. She directed reports to either management or a dedicated Anti-Sexual Harassment Unit for investigation. Essien clearly stated that the school prohibits trading gifts for better grades.

She also issued strong warnings against exam fraud and secret cult membership. The rector emphasized a zero-tolerance policy for these behaviors. Essien further banned the sale of unauthorized course handouts, instructing students to buy only approved textbooks.

She promised to maintain a disciplined and safe environment focused on academic quality. The polytechnic requires a mandatory skills acquisition program alongside standard studies. Essien argued that this prepares graduates with practical abilities for society.

Students were urged to complete assignments diligently and cooperate with lecturers. Several officials spoke at the student orientation event. Registrar Idhigu Lucky, Bursar Emmanuel Esomonu, and Librarian Ehikioya Uduebor were among the resource persons.
