Porwar fires shots at old guard in Dumuria rally

Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami's Secretary General Prof Mia Golam Porwar addressed students at a Dumuria rally on Friday. He described the February national election as a contest between corrupt politicians and young voters. The former MP encouraged youth to create change through voting after rejecting authoritarian rule. Jamaat would tackle joblessness through employment programs, financial support for the unemployed, and expanded technical training if elected.

The party plans to transform Dumuria into a commercial center while fixing flooding problems in Bil Dakatia and upgrading schools. Assistant Secretary General Rafiqul Islam Khan and other leaders promoted Jamaat's balance scale election symbol. They promised an equal society for all groups and women. Porwar later met Hindu leaders in Khulna, calling for unity between religious communities and dismissing negative claims about his party.
