Pragmata Showcases Hacking, Combat, and Story Details at Capcom Spotlight 2025

Capcom revealed new details about Pragmata during its Spotlight Showcase 2025 event. The company demonstrated the game's unique combat system that combines hacking puzzles with third-person shooting. Players control Hugh Williams, an astronaut investigating a silent lunar base. Williams works alongside Diana, an android companion who helps hack enemy defenses. The story explores their partnership as they uncover mysteries on the Moon.

The combat requires Diana to hack enemy armor before Williams can deal damage. Players must solve puzzles that connect green nodes on a grid pattern. These puzzles must be completed quickly before enemies reach the player. Williams uses ranged weapons after Diana successfully disables enemy defenses. Multiple enemies create complex tactical situations that test player strategy.

Movement plays a crucial role in surviving encounters on the lunar station. Williams uses thrusters to navigate around enemies and explore the environment. The thruster system helps players escape dangerous situations during combat. Platforming sections also benefit from the enhanced mobility options. These movement tools give players multiple ways to approach each challenge.

Capcom plans to release Pragmata in 2026 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S and PC platforms. The company has not announced a specific release date for the game. Players can experience Pragmata firsthand at Gamescom 2025 through a playable demonstration. Gaming journalist Kai Tatsumoto praised the combat system after testing it at Summer Game Fest 2025. Early reactions suggest the hacking and shooting mechanics work well together.
