President William Ruto urges parents to take responsibility for raising children and warns against political manipulation of youth

President William Ruto addressed parental duties during Bishop Benjamin Kalanzo's installation ceremony at Africa Inland Church Bomani Masaku Service grounds. The head of state emphasized that child-rearing remains a divine mandate that parents cannot transfer to government institutions or law enforcement agencies. Ruto highlighted how God entrusts children to families because parents possess the capability to guide their development properly. He warned against political leaders who manipulate young people for personal gain and stressed that police officers receive training to handle criminals rather than provide family guidance. The president described Kenya's youth as the nation's greatest resource due to their talents and educational achievements.

Government will continue providing educational access and healthcare services while parents must fulfill their nurturing responsibilities. Religious institutions should contribute to moral guidance for children and teenagers. Bishop Abraham Mulwa presided over the ceremony that installed Kalanzo as the new regional leader. Governor Wavinya Ndeti and Cabinet Secretary Alfred Mutua attended the religious gathering alongside parliamentary representatives from Kibwezi West and Mwala constituencies.
