Prince Chigwida, the gospel musician behind the track Mazambara, absolutely rocked a huge ZCC youth event in Masvingo. He performed for a packed crowd estimated at around forty thousand people, playing hits like Gore Rino and Ndiringei Mambo. Another artist, Obert Chari, also performed at the gala organized by the Zion Christian Church.
Church youth leader Jasper Mangwana explained the reasoning behind the concert. He said the goal is to connect with young people through entertainment, promoting good values, and discouraging things like drug use. They wanted to show that major events can happen successfully outside of Harare. Stage manager Prince Meke added that such performances inspire youth and support the church's mission of promoting peace and unity.
The artist himself, Prince Chigwida, expressed gratitude for the chance to perform a full set, thanking Bishop Nehemiah Mutendi for the opportunity. He noted this was a bigger platform than the brief musical slots usually allowed during standard services.
