Protesters torch ex-minister's home, fury over Hadi death

Protesters lit a house on fire in Chattogram. The property belongs to Mohibul Hassan Chowdhoury Nowfel, a former education minister with the Awami League. It also belonged to ex-mayor Mohiuddin Chowdhury. This happened following the death of Inqilab Moncho spokesperson Sharif Osman Hadi.

Demonstrators gathered at multiple points, including Biplab Udyan. Another group rallied outside the Indian Assistant High Commission. The crowd set a motorcycle ablaze inside the house's compound in the Chashmahill area. Police eventually managed to control the unrest.

Hadi was shot in the head on a road in Dhaka's Paltan area. After surgery at a local hospital, he was flown to Singapore for treatment, where he died. He had been a July Uprising leader and a potential election candidate.
