PSG soar to Ligue 1 summit as injuries mount

Paris Saint-Germain defeated Auxerre 2-0 Saturday to extend their lead atop Ligue 1 to three points. The defending champions suffered fresh injury setbacks as midfielder Vitinha departed late in the first half and winger Khvicha Kvaratskhelia left at halftime with apparent thigh damage. Central defenders provided both goals for the hosts. Ukraine's Illia Zabarnyi opened scoring in the 33rd minute before Lucas Beraldo added a second goal 10 minutes into the second half.

The victory lifted PSG to 15 points from six matches while several rivals trail on 12 points. Monaco stumbled with a 3-1 defeat at Lorient after captain Thilo Kehrer received a red card in the first half. Toulouse earned a 2-2 draw against Nantes after twice falling behind.
