Pulkovo Air Fares Climb 16 Percent for Big Journeys

Travelers flying from St. Petersburg to foreign countries face steeper prices this year. Ticket costs jumped 16% compared to last year, reaching an average of 67,900 rubles. Long-distance international destinations saw the biggest price hikes.

Domestic flight prices increased 11%, averaging 23,500 rubles this summer. Flights to neighboring countries saw the smallest increase at just 6%, with tickets now costing about 34,400 rubles. Spain tops the list for international price increases - tickets there cost 96,100 rubles, a massive 159% jump from last year.

Other expensive routes include St. Petersburg to Rome (96,100 rubles), Baku (34,400 rubles), and Antalya (63,600 rubles). Among domestic destinations, flights to Makhachkala, Mineralnye Vody, Kaliningrad, and Sochi cost the most. A ticket to Sochi costs about 29,900 rubles, up 27% from last year.

Mineralnye Vody flights cost around 33,800 rubles, a 38% increase. Some regular domestic routes from Pulkovo Airport have seen price increases as high as 70% over the past year. Despite rising costs, St. Petersburg remains the most popular destination for Russian domestic tourism.
