Puri says Varanasi finishes 486 projects worth 35155 crore

Union Minister Hardeep Singh Puri conducted the District Development Coordination and Monitoring Committee meeting on Monday. Officials and public representatives attended the session that examined various city development initiatives. The minister praised Varanasi's transformation into a model urban center for progress. DISHA committees operate under parliamentary leadership to oversee the implementation of central government programs at the local level. Public feedback accompanied the comprehensive project assessment during the gathering.

Puri announced the completion of 486 development works valued at Rs 35,155 crore since 2014. Construction continues on 125 additional projects worth Rs 16,338 crore across the ancient city. The minister compared Varanasi's development momentum to the continuous flow of the Ganges River. He emphasized the city's successful balance between modernization and historical preservation. Prime Minister Narendra Modi recently inaugurated projects worth Rs 2,200 crore in the region, encompassing education, healthcare, tourism, and urban development.
