Putrajaya police warn of cannon fire, road closures for Warriors Day parade

Putrajaya authorities alert citizens about upcoming ceremonial cannon fire during the 2025 Warriors Day parade at Dataran Pahlawan Negara on July 31. Malaysian Armed Forces will discharge 21 ceremonial rounds on Thursday, while rehearsal activities on July 29 will feature two rounds at the same venue. Police Chief ACP Aidi Sham Mohamed urges residents to remain calm when hearing the blasts.

Traffic disruptions will occur between 7am and 10am on parade day. Motorists should expect delays along Persiaran Sultan Salahuddin Abdul Aziz Shah, Lebuh Perdana Timur, and roads surrounding Kompleks E. Officials recommend early travel planning and alternative route selection to minimize inconvenience.

Warriors Day commemorates Malaysian security forces annually since 1968. The ceremony honors military and police personnel who protect national peace and sovereignty. Armed Forces and Royal Malaysia Police alternate responsibility for organizing this significant event each year.
