QNET Slave Ring Busted In Assin Fosu

Police rescued seven people from different African countries who had been tricked and held against their will. Officers found them locked up at a house near Assin Fosu on Sunday after getting a tip. The victims came from Mali, Togo, Ivory Coast and Burkina Faso. Someone promised them jobs with QNET, a marketing company online. Police arrested eight people during the rescue operation.

Zongo Jeon-Baptiste, age 35, appears to be the main person behind this crime. He comes from Burkina Faso and police say he lured these seven victims with fake job offers. The Central North Regional Police Commander confirmed the arrests to news reporters. Officers charged Jeon-Baptiste with human trafficking and fraud. The rescued people will help police learn more about what happened.

This matches other similar crimes happening across Ghana recently. Criminals promise jobs to people from West African countries and trick them into coming. Police have rescued hundreds of victims during recent operations. Officers say they plan to stop these trafficking networks from operating. The rescued victims are now safe and free.
