Opposition legislators gathered outside Parliament on Friday to demonstrate against Bihar's electoral roll revision process. Congress leaders questioned the transparency of information sharing during the electoral process. Opposition members argued that the Election Commission's actions would prevent citizens from exercising their voting rights.
The Election Commission reported covering 99 percent of Bihar's 7.89 crore eligible voters through the revision exercise. Officials identified 21.6 lakh deceased individuals and 31.5 lakh permanent migrants during the process. The commission also located seven lakh duplicate registrations and one lakh untraceable voters across the state.
