Rajendra Chawla calls for redefined masculinity on Men's Day

Actor Rajendra Chawla has marked International Men's Day with a call to reshape traditional views of masculinity, arguing that emotional honesty requires real courage rather than weakness. The performer, who appears in the upcoming television series Lakshmi Niwas, believes society has wrongly conditioned males to suppress their feelings and urged men to embrace qualities like empathy, responsibility and openness without sacrificing respect or dignity.

Chawla plays Srinivas in the Zee TV production, portraying a devoted father and husband whose personal aspiration to build a family home has repeatedly been delayed by immediate obligations, including children's education and marriages. The character's deferred dream resurfaces as retirement nears, becoming central to his relationship with wife Lakshmi.

The actor previously revealed how his middle-class upbringing shaped his understanding of home ownership, recalling a formative banking trip where his father established a savings account to instill financial discipline rather than simply gifting money.
