Rangbazar Explores Dark Past of Asia's Largest Brothel for Durga Puja

Three actresses take the spotlight as Rashid Polash brings his latest movie to screens across the country. Tanzika Amin teams up with Moushumi Hamid and Peya Jannatul for the drama called Rangbazar. The cameras stopped rolling months ago as the cast wrapped up their work on set. Live Technology backs the project and promises audiences can watch it during Durga Puja festivities. The production house made the official announcement about when people can see the film.

Rashid Polash built his story around real events that happened years ago. Tanjib Atul wrote the original tale that inspired the movie script. Golam Rabbani turned those ideas into scenes and dialogue for the screen. The director hopes his work will make the holiday celebration even more special for viewers. He believes the film will bring extra happiness to the Puja season.

The movie explores the past of Tanbazar and its place as one of Asia's biggest red-light districts. This massive brothel operated for four centuries before authorities tore it down. The demolition took place during July 1999 and ended a long chapter of history. The film digs into what life was like in that world before it vanished forever. Audiences will learn about a place that once drew people from across the region.

Shampa Reza joins the main stars alongside several other familiar faces from local cinema. Naznin Hasan Chumki brings her acting skills to the project as another key performer. Shahajahan Samrat and Lutfor Rahman George round out the experienced cast members. Borda Mithu adds his talents to the group of actors. Many additional performers help tell this complex story about a forgotten piece of the past.
