Rare Trade Move - Japan Invests Big In Nairobi

Japan and Kenya have a strong bond. A top Japanese official, Horiuchi Toshihiko, is visiting Kenya and wants the two countries to work together even more.

Japan started a big meeting called TICAD in 1993. The meeting is about supporting Africa. In 2016, Kenya hosted one of these meetings. It was a special moment. Japan keeps working with African countries through TICAD. They focus on investing in people and smart growth.

Japan has an idea called the "Free and Open Indo-Pacific." It's about having international rules that everyone follows, such as free trade and obeying the law. Japan thinks this is important for peace and success in a big part of the world. Kenya agrees with this idea.

Japanese businesses like Kenya a lot. The two countries are finding ways to get more Japanese companies to invest in Kenya. A big group from Japan visited Kenya recently to make this happen.

Japan also wants to strengthen ties between regular Japanese and Kenyan people, not just in business but in culture and education. One way they do this is by letting Kenyan students study in Japan.
