Rasika Dugal marks 7 years of Manto with a tribute to Nandita Das and Nawazuddin

Actress Rasika Dugal commemorated the seventh anniversary of biographical drama Manto through social media posts. The performer portrayed Safia Manto in director Nandita Das's 2018 production about renowned Urdu writer Saadat Hasan Manto. Dugal expressed appreciation for Das's support during filming and praised Nawazuddin Siddiqui's collaborative spirit. The film examined four turbulent years in Manto's life following the 1947 partition of India and Pakistan. Siddiqui starred as the titular character while the supporting cast featured established performers such as Rishi Kapoor, Paresh Rawal, and Divya Dutta.

The biographical drama premiered at the Cannes Film Festival before reaching theaters on September 21, 2018. Multiple production companies collaborated on the project while Zakir Hussain composed the musical score. Kartik Vijay handled cinematography duties and A. Sreekar Prasad supervised editing work for the historical narrative.
