Real Madrid drops Rodri pursuit over price and injury woes

Real Madrid president Florentino Perez has officially decided not to pursue the signing of Manchester City midfielder Rodri in the near future, according to Defensa Central. The report states that Perez considers the high cost of the deal unjustifiable, especially as Rodri has struggled with a series of injuries, which raises concerns within the club’s management about investing in the player.

Rodri, widely regarded as one of the top midfielders in the world, had been linked to Real Madrid as a potential reinforcement for the squad. However, financial and physical concerns have led the club to abandon the pursuit for now. Rodri is under contract with Manchester City until the summer of 2027, and the transfer was estimated at €100 million. However, the player continues to experience injury issues and is nearing 30 years of age.
