Resort consortium targets Mazvikadei Dam

A group of local investors plans to construct comprehensive tourism infrastructure along the Mazvikadei Dam waterfront, including a conference facility accommodating 5,000 attendees, lodging options, recreational amenities, and an airstrip. The development aims to expand hospitality capacity in Mashonaland West province ahead of its hosting responsibilities for the Sanganai/Hlanganani Tourism Expo.

Project manager John Mberi outlined a two-year construction timeline following completion of regulatory approvals. The consortium behind Jacobs Park in Borrowdale intends to replicate its integrated development model through collaboration with area residents under a joint venture structure. Provincial minister Marian Chombo inspected both sites and expressed government support for the initiative, which aligns with rural industrialization objectives.
