Reuben Abati Blasts Claims He Begged Wike

Reuben Abati strongly denies asking FCT Minister Nyesom Wike for money. The former presidential spokesperson and Arise TV host rejected claims made against him Friday. Lere Olayinka works as media aide to Wike and accused Abati of begging for financial help. The TV personality said nobody ever authorized anyone to request funds from the minister. Abati called such actions fraud and said Wike should expose fake requests.

Olayinka claimed Abati supports former Rivers Governor Rotimi Amaechi and missed Friday's show because of bias. Co-host Rufai Oseni disagreed with this explanation about the absence. Abati stated he never contacts Amaechi and does not have his phone number. The media figure attended a book review event for Dr. Udu Yakubu's publication that day. The 550-page book required his participation as an intellectual commitment.

Abati refuses to resign from his media position despite pressure from Wike's aide. The TV host believes public officials must face scrutiny from citizens and journalists. Minister Wike serves the people and should answer questions about his work. Nobody working for the government stays above accountability according to media standards. Abati stands behind every criticism he made about the FCT minister's performance.
