Right to Dream floors FIFA in Nuamah cash fight

Ghana's Right to Dream Academy beat FIFA at the Court of Arbitration for Sport over money from Ernest Nuamah's transfer. The court said FIFA made a mistake about which club should receive development fees from the player's €25 million move. Right to Dream trained Nuamah during his teenage years when he could earn them money under FIFA rules. Stadium Youth Club was listed to receive the payments even though Nuamah left them at age eight. The court ordered FIFA to fix their records and pay Right to Dream instead.

Nuamah moved from FC Nordsjaelland to RWD Molenbeek before joining Lyon on loan. FIFA keeps five percent of international transfer fees for clubs that develop players between ages 12 and 23. Right to Dream should receive at least €283,919 from the sale with more money coming when Lyon buys Nuamah permanently. The academy proved they developed Nuamah during the years that matter for FIFA payments. Stadium Youth Club stopped operating years ago and never deserved the money anyway.
