Rituparna Sengupta admits she whined about clothes

Bengali actress Rituparna Sengupta discussed her preferred foods and traditions for Durga Puja in a recent interview. She explained that her family prepares khichdi with vegetables as an offering to Maa Durga before consuming it, and they also enjoy street foods such as golgappas and rolls. The actress stated that white sarees with red borders hold special significance for the Ashtami ritual.

Sengupta recalled childhood celebrations that involved visiting multiple pandals with various friend groups and comparing new outfits with peers. She noted that anticipation for the festival lasted throughout the year as students awaited school closures and holidays. The actress acknowledged that this year proved challenging following her mother's recent death.

Sengupta attends the India Bangla club celebration annually and emphasizes that traditional sarees remain essential attire for the festival. She described how women enhance their appearance through these garments and how wearing them has become customary for the religious observance. The actress confirmed that her most cherished memories involve spontaneous visits to pandals and time spent with childhood companions.
