The Rotary Club of Kibuli-Kampala wants to help people learn about sickle cell disease and mental health problems. Their leader, Julie Kariisa, worked with friends from another Rotary Club called Butabika to make this happen.
They started their work at a school called MUBS in Nakawa. They wanted to teach people the truth about these illnesses and make sure sick people feel welcomed by others. The team offered free blood tests to check if anyone had sickle cell disease.
The Rotary leaders said many people know about HIV/AIDS, but they forget about sickle cell disease and mental health. These problems make life hard for lots of people who need our help and understanding.
The team planted six special trees at the school. They chose trees that produce good fruit, such as avocados, mangoes, and guavas. These trees will clean the air and provide healthy food to people nearby.
The Rotary Club works hard every day to keep people healthy and happy in their community. They believe that teaching others about health makes the world a better place.
