Route Wars Erupt in Zimbabwe Public Transport

A passenger group warns that violence is breaking out between competing bus companies in Zimbabwe, making travel dangerous for riders.

The Passengers Association of Zimbabwe raised concerns about the problem. They said the "route wars" are causing fear and harm, and riders are facing threats and attacks.

Bus companies are fighting over the best routes. They want control of the most profitable paths. This leads some to use force against each other. But passengers get caught in the middle.

People have been forced onto certain buses. If they refuse, they face harassment or worse. The passenger group says this is wrong. They believe riders have the right to choose.

The group wants the government to intervene. They think leaders need to better control the bus system, which could prevent more violence.

They also tell riders to report any problems. The group wants passengers to contact them or the police for help.

Zimbabwe's buses have a key job. They help many people travel for work and family needs. But these route wars put that at risk.

The passenger group hopes everyone can work together. They want a bus system that is safe and puts customers first. Solving this problem will take action and cooperation.
