Roza Terenzi to replace PinkPantheress on Thursday at Glastonbury

Glastonbury Festival organizers made their first schedule change before the event begins Wednesday. Pink Pantheress will not perform at the Levels stage Thursday night as planned. Roza Terenzi will take her place from 10:30 p.m. to midnight. The Bath-born artist keeps her Friday performance at the Woodsies stage at 7:30 p.m. Festival officials announced the change Wednesday morning.

Social media users suggested safety concerns drove the decision. Many fans predicted dangerous crowding at the Levels venue for Pink Pantheress. One Reddit user called the original booking a recipe for disaster. Another person said everyone expected problems from the announcement. Critics question why organizers made the booking at all.

Festival representatives denied overcrowding fears caused the change. They said the artist could not make the Thursday performance for other reasons. The spokesperson confirmed Pink Pantheress would still appear Friday at Woodsies. This year's festival has faced criticism from a former senior staff member. The whistleblower called it a disaster waiting to happen.

The Woodsies stage features many popular acts throughout the weekend. Four Tet, Scissor Sisters and Jorja Smith will perform there. Black Country New Road, St Vincent and AJ Tracey also appear on the schedule. The venue typically handles large crowds better than smaller stages. Festival security teams prepare for massive attendance across all performance areas.
