Rupert Neve Designs enters plug-ins with three hardware classics rebuilt alongside McDSP. The Portico II Master Buss Processor brings dynamics and stereo control into software, while the 551 Inductor EQ carries circuitry linked to the Shelford Channel. The 542 Tape Emulator handles saturation, soft clipping, and Silk Red and Blue harmonics.
McDSP recreated the processors while adding capabilities that software can handle beyond the physical units. Portico II remains aimed at mixing and mastering work, the 551 represents Rupert Neve’s 500-Series EQ design, and the 542 covers tape-style color for sources that need extra weight or smoother peaks.
Windows and macOS users get VST3, AU, and AAX formats. iLok supports USB, machine, or Cloud activation. Portico II costs $199, while both the 542 Tape Emulator and 551 Inductor EQ cost $129.
