Russian drone crashes Romania party after Poland hit

Romania detected a Russian drone entering its territory, marking the second NATO member to experience such violations. Romanian F-16 fighters monitored the unmanned aircraft while tracking Russian strikes against Ukrainian infrastructure along the Danube region. Defense officials located the drone approximately 20 kilometers southwest of Chilia Veche village before radar contact ceased. The aircraft avoided populated areas and presented no immediate threat to civilians or infrastructure.

Polish authorities reported shooting down three Russian drones earlier this week after similar airspace violations. Prime Minister Donald Tusk announced enhanced aviation operations and elevated air defense systems to maximum alert status. Belarus attributed the Polish incident to navigation system interference, claiming the breach was unintentional.

Ukrainian President Zelensky rejected suggestions that these incursions represent mistakes, characterizing them as deliberate war expansion by Moscow. President Trump indicated readiness to impose additional sanctions against Russia, contingent upon NATO members meeting specific energy policy requirements regarding Russian oil purchases.
