Ruto Doles Housing Keys in Jaw-Dropping Handout

President William Ruto gave house keys to more than 1,000 families at the new Mukuru housing estate on Friday. The development covers 56 acres and contains over 13,000 homes for people with different income levels. Construction began back in October 2022 and provides jobs for thousands of young workers across Kenya. Families can rent bedsitter apartments for 3,900 shillings monthly under the rent-to-purchase program. The president called this moment the most important day of his political career.

Ruto met with security officials from South Africa to discuss artificial intelligence technology for keeping countries safe. He said goodbye to the Algerian ambassador, who finished his work assignment, and praised their strong diplomatic relationship. Leaders from Machakos, Makueni, and Kitui counties visited the State House to discuss speeding up development projects. South Sudan peace mediators briefed the president about ongoing efforts to bring stability to that nation. Faith leaders also met with Ruto to discuss universal health coverage and working together on community programs.

The president visited women's organization Maendeleo ya Wanawake and promised continued government support for grassroots empowerment efforts. He also held separate meetings with evangelical church groups about their role in helping resolve conflicts across Africa. Later that day, Ruto traveled to Kibera to check progress on another affordable housing construction site called Soweto. The government plans over 200 similar housing projects at various stages of completion nationwide. These developments aim to provide homes for families earning different amounts of monthly income.
