Rwandan trucker dies after losing control in Kabale

A truck crash took the life of a young man from Rwanda last Saturday morning. The 23-year-old driver, named Muhire, died right away when his big rig flipped over. He lived in Kigali but never made it back home. The accident happened around 8:30 AM near Kyanamira trading center on the road connecting Mbarara and Kabale.

Police officer Elly Maate told reporters that Muhire drove a silver Sino truck with license plate RAF186I/RL4013. The driver lost control as he headed toward Kabale town. Nobody else rode with him in the vehicle. After the crash, Officer Cpl. Kambale Isaac brought a police team to check what happened. They sent Muhire's body to Kabale Hospital for doctors to examine.

According to the police report, brake problems caused the deadly accident. The large truck simply couldn't stop when needed. Maate asked all drivers to fix their vehicles regularly. He stressed how important safety rules are on dangerous roads. Regular check-ups might have prevented this sad event that ended a young man's life far from home.

The highway between Mbarara and Kabale sees many trucks pass through every day. Most carry heavy loads between Uganda and Rwanda. Local people know these steep roads need careful driving. Muhire becomes another sad reminder that vehicle safety saves lives. His family waits many miles away as police finish their investigation into exactly what went wrong that morning.
