Samsung equips Star of Seas with 6,000 displays

Royal Caribbean's newest mega-cruiser has received more than 6,000 Samsung displays and digital signage units as part of a comprehensive installation valued at over $10 million. Each stateroom aboard the vessel features Crystal UHD Hospitality televisions delivering 4K resolution with Dynamic Crystal Color technology, while also functioning as information hubs that provide personalized greetings, itinerary details, weather forecasts, and destination guides for passengers.

The technology partnership between the cruise operator and electronics manufacturer extends back two decades, during which Samsung has deployed approximately 200,000 screens across 28 vessels in the fleet. Samsung maintains its position as the leading commercial display provider globally for 17 consecutive years, with the cruise sector serving as a proving ground for hospitality features later adopted by hotels and corporate clients.

The installation includes ultra-slim QMC Smart Signage displays positioned throughout common areas such as lounges and performance venues, alongside the introduction of the HF8000F model, a compact 24-inch unit equipped with Google Cast, Apple AirPlay, and LYNK Cloud management capabilities designed for space-constrained environments.
