Sauceware Audio dropped Scorch 2 after more than two years spent rebuilding its first plug-in. Producer Jacob leads the company, and the instrument targets rap production with sampled sounds from gear by Oberheim, Moog, Sequential, Roland, and Rhodes.
Underneath, two mixable sound layers handle the core audio. A Chaos control can change nearly any setting, while Bite adjusts saturation, Space manages delay and reverb, and Motion sets modulation speed. Producers also get deeper sampling controls, effects, patch randomization, and as many as 32 voices.
Three MIDI lanes cover melody, chords, and bass, with generated notes locked to a chosen scale and each lane ready for DAW export. Scorch 2 supports Windows 10 onward and macOS 10.11 onward. Its launch price is $79 rather than the standard $159.
