Selangor officials will launch complimentary flu shots for students across four districts reporting elevated infection rates beginning next week, with more than 12,500 youngsters expected to participate under a one-million-ringgit budget. State Public Health and Environment Committee chairman Jamaliah Jamaluddin announced on Sunday that Petaling, Klang, Gombak and Hulu Langat will receive priority access to protect vulnerable populations and limit transmission.
Provincial authorities plan two distribution approaches for the initiative. Outreach teams will visit campuses hosting Integrated Special Education Centers to immunize roughly 4,720 pupils aged eight and younger from lower-income households. Families will receive informational materials plus digital codes allowing guardian enrollment through the SELangkah mobile platform. Walk-in appointments at Selcare facilities and participating partner clinics offer an alternative route after caregivers verify qualification status via the application.
