Dr. Mwangangi previously worked as Chief Administrative Secretary at the Health Ministry and currently serves as Senior Health Systems Strengthening Director at AMREF Health Africa.
At AMREF, she leads health financing programs across Africa, focusing on primary healthcare support and expanding universal health coverage. Duale said her 15 years of experience in health policy, governance, and reform made her the right choice for the job. The Cabinet Secretary praised her skills in leadership, raising resources, and building partnerships.
Duale expressed faith in her ability to guide the Authority toward meeting its goals as its first-ever CEO. Other candidates who competed for the position included former Acting SHA CEO Robert Ingasira and ten additional qualified professionals.
