Shafiqul Alam to return to journalism, not join politics

Chief Adviser's Press Secretary Shafiqul Alam crushed rumors about his political future Wednesday. The top government spokesman told everyone he plans to skip politics completely after his current job ends. Alam wants to go back to his writing desk and chase his journalism dreams instead. He mentioned having several book projects ready to tackle once he leaves his government post. Friends had been spreading word that he might jump into party politics after serving as press secretary.

Alam made it clear he has zero interest in the political game or the fancy lifestyle that comes with being a lawmaker. The veteran journalist said he could easily dedicate his entire remaining career to documenting the July uprising that changed everything. He pointed to famous writer Robert Caro who spent decades writing about former President Lyndon Johnson as his inspiration. Alam believes one writer can focus their whole life on covering the July revolution even though some people hate calling it that word.

The press secretary admitted receiving tons of nasty threats from Awami League supporters over recent months. He brushed off these intimidation attempts as desperate moves from people who lost all public support. Alam expressed complete trust in God's protection and said he feels excited about starting his next chapter. The seasoned media professional appears ready to trade government briefings for book writing and investigative reporting once again.
