Shah Rukh Khan celebrates his 60th birthday with wishes

Bollywood actor Shah Rukh Khan marked his 60th birthday on Sunday, prompting congratulations from West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee. She posted wishes on X for the cinema icon, calling him her brother and praising his contributions to Indian film.

Banerjee has publicly supported Khan before. In July, she expressed worry after reports surfaced about muscle injuries he sustained while filming his upcoming project King. The actor traveled to the United States for medical care and paused production for about a month. Their friendship extends beyond politics, as Khan co-owns the Kolkata Knight Riders cricket franchise, which plays in West Bengal's capital city. The team has captured three Indian Premier League championships in 2012, 2014, and 2024.

Khan becomes the second member of Bollywood's famous trio to reach 60 this year, following Aamir Khan in March. Salman Khan will celebrate the same milestone in December. The birthday celebrant last appeared in the film Dunki and will star alongside his daughter Suhana Khan in King when it releases.
