Shure debuts MoveMic 88 Plus for wireless audio

Shure just launched a fresh compact stereo mic that streams audio wirelessly to your phone. They call it the MoveMic 88+, building on their earlier MV88 stereo condenser and MV88+ video kit. Content creators can place this mic anywhere for perfect sound without ruining their camera angles.

The device packs dual capsules, letting you choose between different recording styles—adjustable stereo from 60° to 135°, mono cardioid, mono bidirectional, or raw Mid-Side. Built-in processing offers adjustable gain, compression, EQ, and high-pass filtering. You can swap left/right channels or reduce noise right on the mic. Five ready-made settings help beginners start recording fast: speech, singing, flat, acoustic, and loud.

This mic works up to 30 meters away from your device and runs for eight hours per charge. You can attach it to most tripods or mic stands using the included 5/8-inch or cold shoe clips or simply hold it during recording. Connect directly to phones through Shure's MOTIV apps, or buy the expanded kit with the MoveMic Receiver for USB-C or 3.5mm connections to cameras, computers, and other devices. Both the mic and receiver feature headphone jacks for live monitoring.

Paul Crognale from Shure says creators gain complete freedom with professional wireless audio whether they record outdoors, make short films, report news, or create social videos. He describes it as perfect for traveling light, quick setup, discrete use, and creative flexibility. The basic MoveMic 88+ costs $299/£289/€349, including clips and a charging cable. The MoveMic 88+ Receiver Kit sells for $449/£439/€519 and adds the receiver plus extra cables.
