His family says the late MP was their rock. The siblings of former Lugari lawmaker Cyrus Jirongo gave an emotional tribute at his memorial service in Nairobi, describing him as a father figure and their blood brother. Speaking at Christ Is The Answer Ministries on Valley Road, a woman named Grace read their statement, saying the public knew him as a politician and philanthropist, but to them, he was family first. They admitted struggling with his sudden death in a car crash on the Nairobi Nakuru Highway near Karai.
Grace said Jirongo modeled strength for his own kids and his nieces and nephews, treating them all as his children. The family promised to carry his memory with them always, calling him a fallen pillar whose spirit lives on. Jirongo, aged sixty-four, died after his Mercedes collided head-on with a passenger bus. He will be buried at his rural home in Lumakanda.
