The Miss Rural Zimbabwe pageant advances to Masvingo Province tomorrow at Urban Lifestyle Hotel. Founder Sipho Mazibuko reports that 21 female and 10 male contestants will compete for provincial titles. Previous competitions crowned Yolanda Nkomo and Privilege Sibanda as Matabeleland South winners, while Mitchell Ngwenya and Blessing Mpofu took Matabeleland North honors. Provincial Minister Ezra Chadzamire will serve as guest of honor for the event.
The competition covers six districts within Masvingo Province and remains open for additional auditions. Margaret Mangowe from Bikita received a full scholarship to study beauty therapy at a Bulawayo academy through pageant participation. Mazibuko believes the program addresses rural youth challenges such as substance abuse and teenage pregnancy. Contestants will display traditional clothing, cultural dances, and handmade designs during the finals.
