The murder case against blogger Daniel Muthiani's accused killers got pushed to February after defense attorneys ghosted the Kiambu court session without warning anybody. Current Meru Governor Mutuma M'Ethingia wrapped up his witness testimony by telling Justice Dorah Chepkwony he knew the dead blogger and sent him cash for bug spray once, but their chats were basically one-way conversations. The prosecutor called out the lawyer's no-show as an obvious stalling tactic.
Vincent Mureithi Kirimi and Murangiri Kenneth Guantai, plus some other defendants, are fighting charges that they killed Muthiani at Mutonga River in Tharaka Nithi County. Former Governor Kawira Mwangaza is supposed to testify when proceedings pick back up in a couple of months.
