Soe Win and India's defence chief swap gifts, secrets

Myanmar's military leadership hosted Indian defense officials at the capital yesterday. Vice-Senior General Soe Win welcomed Defence Secretary Rajesh Kumar Singh at Bayintnaung Villa during morning talks. The discussions covered military cooperation between the two nations and border security initiatives.

Both sides explored expanded training programs and regional stability measures. Union Minister for Defence General Maung Maung Aye joined senior Myanmar officers for the diplomatic session. The Indian delegation included Defence Attaché Colonel Jaswinder Singh Gill, alongside representatives from the armed forces.

The meeting concluded with ceremonial gift exchanges between the military leaders. Officials posed for formal photographs commemorating the bilateral defense talks. Myanmar and India emphasized the importance of strengthening their military partnership through mutual respect and continued cooperation across multiple sectors.
